Most tours show you the surface.
Kofi Culture takes you deeper—into the food, the people, and the real energy of Accra.
Kofi Culture was created to offer something different from the typical “tourist experience.”
After relocating from the UK to Ghana, founder James set out to build a series of immersive, small-group tours that go beyond the obvious. Instead of surface-level sightseeing, the focus is on real connection—through food, people, and culture.
“Kofi” is a traditional Ghanaian name given to boys born on a Friday—symbolising identity, roots, and belonging. That spirit sits at the heart of everything we do.
The play on words with ‘Coffee Culture’ combines James’ Western roots alongside his new found love for West Africa.
To create meaningful, memorable experiences that connect people to the real Ghana—while supporting local communities and businesses along the way.
That said Kofi Tours is designed to grow beyond Accra—expanding across Ghana and eventually West Africa, bringing more people closer to the cultures that make this region so special.
After almost 50 years living in the UK and having travelled and volunteered across 17 different African countries, I made the move to Ghana to build something more meaningful—connecting people with real culture, real people, and real experiences.
I personally designed each tour based on what I wanted to experience myself—not what typical tourists are shown.
You won’t just see Accra—you’ll experience it properly.
