Stop 1 – The Art Gallery
Our first stop is a private tour around the renowned Artists Alliance Gallery. This gallery is one of Accra’s most important art centres, featuring multiple floors of contemporary and traditional African art. Our guide will explain the various artists and techniques they use to produce this fantastic art.
Stop 2 – Fantasy Coffin Workshop
Next, we’ll visit one of Ghana’s oldest fantasy coffin makers and admire the famous craftsmanship that goes into these great creations. We’ll hear all about the background, process and tradition of this colourful workshop.
Stop 3 – Refreshment time
It’s time for a short break to relax and enjoy a fresh smoothie. Will you take a ‘Chittagong’ (pineapple, cucumber, apple, ginger) or a ‘Muscle Builder’ (beetroot, banana, tiger nut) … there are 19 different recipes to choose from!
Stop 4 – The Artisanal Market
Our final stop is the Accra Arts Centre, one of Ghana’s most impressive marketplaces to do with art, craft and culture. There will be plenty of opportunities to explore this vibrant market, haggle for handmade goods or take part in a drumming workshop.
